For this project, I designed two high-impact interpretive signage panels that translate complex hydroelectric data into accessible visual storytelling. The final deliverables utilize a clear information hierarchy and intentional branding to educate the public on the facility’s technical processes and environmental significance within Ontario’s energy landscape.

Problem

Communicating technical hydroelectric history and environmental impact to a broad public audience presents a significant challenge in information design. The project required a solution that could engage visitors with varying levels of prior knowledge while operating within the strict constraints of OPG's established brand guidelines. The goal was to prevent information overload while still providing deep educational value.

Solution

I developed a cohesive visual system that balances technical accuracy with striking, large-scale graphics. Strategic Information Hierarchy: Implemented a dual-purpose layout that allows for quick scanning of key facts while providing detailed technical narratives for engaged readers. Brand Integration: Pushed creative boundaries within the OPG identity to ensure the signage felt both authoritative and contemporary. Visual Storytelling: Focused on creating memorable, accessible touchpoints that transform the facility from a technical site into a significant cultural and environmental landmark.
